Creativity is flowing as usual

My day today was filled with creativity. I started of making a few pairs of earrings and then made a gorgeous necklace. At the moment I am working on some multi stranded bracelets. I am purposely not saying very much about the creations because I have started making creations for my exhibition, which is in December. Now I know I started early but I want to make sure that I have gorgeous pieces to show and sell. The problem is I am not sure which pieces I think I should sell now and which I should keep (meaning no pictures or anything before the exhibition). This is kind of hard so I am thinking of having a small private album with some of my best customers and some family members to ask their opinions.

Its hard figuring out which are those special pieces because really when making something you put hard work, precision and creativity into every single piece. So to then decide which is nicer than the other isn’t an easy task. What I might do is post just one or two pictures on Facebook and my blog so that all of you can give me your honest opinion about the pieces. I mean it’s always nice to get feedback from people who keep up to date with my line. Who read my blog and check my Facebook page regularly. Input from all of you is very important because besides creating because I love to I also create hoping that you all will appreciate the outcome.

The Box

I found that jewelry box I was so desperately searching for! Those of you who follow my blog know what im talking about. I have been looking for a jewelry box to keep my own precious jewels in. It’s been hell finding something that I both liked and that fell within my budget, but after looking for months I finally found it. Last Friday I went to the market in Arnhem. There is a market each Friday and Saturday but the Friday one is way bigger with more than just food. It has clothes antiques, food and more. I was just wandering around and decided to go look by the antique things. There were all these cute old couples selling stuff that they were no longer attached to. I remember there was this GORGEOUS antique hairbrush and mirror, totally like in one of those fairy tales. I loved it but knew that I don’t have space for stuff like that in my little room.

Anyways I continued looking when I found this super pretty box. It was made of wood and had been hand carved. There was some damage at the bottom where the wood had separated but I didn’t mind it was so adorable. Plus when I asked the lady for the price… Only 5 Euros!!!! I was so excited I bought it right away. I will upload a picture of it at the end of this post. Let me know what you all think of it!

Uninspired

Going kind of crazy today. I have been awake for hours because I decided that today I would make some awesome new jewelry, on the contrary I have been watching movies because I cant seem to get inspired. Its like all my creative juices are dried up and I can’t get over that beading block. Not the best feeling I must admit. Hopefully when my beads arrive which they still haven’t (this is the longest it has EVER taken) I will be inspired again but in the meantime I’m just hoping that some brilliant idea will strike!

For the rest I have been looking at a lot of different blogs lately and have been in the mood to start sewing so I’ve just been toying with that idea, but I’m not sure that would be the best idea at the moment since I have too much going on right now what with Tiara’s Jewels, and my goldsmith coarse and the job that I will soon have (hopefully).

My own jewelry

Looking for the right jewelry box to keep my precious jewelry is harder than I thought it would be. I have been looking for something awesome for months now and still have not been able to find that special thing. It is kind of ridiculous that I don’t have a nice jewelry box, especially considering the fact that I make jewelry. I should own something nice for my jewelry.

Something else that is funny is that every time that I wear jewelry people ask if I make it. No one ever expects me to wear jewelry that I did not make myself. I love jewelry and have some really nice pieces that I bought in Morocco. About a year and a half I went on vacation with my dad. We went to Marrakesh; it was the best trip of my life. The architecture, clothing, food, and jewelry was just breath taking.

I was there for four days but I took about 200 pictures. That is also where I found two of my favorite earrings as well as two rings that I absolutely LOVE. I will add some pictures to the bottom of this post.
